To know the road ahead, ask those coming back. – Chinese Proverb
I have the feeling this year is going to be a good year.
Even with the freshness of the New Year still lingering in the air, I believe my feeling isn’t based on the typical early-January euphoria, but from a source with a little more power.
While the road ahead doesn’t have all of the lines painted, I have the sense it’s leading me someplace incredible. Too often I’ve wondered where the road was taking me instead of relying on my faith to provide the navigation.
But now I see the road is wide open and inviting me to drive as fast as I want to go. It’s asking me to grip the steering wheel and hold on tight as doubt flashes by in the rear-view window.
Most important, the road ahead was built exclusively for my trip. It’s free of punishing bumps and it’s freshly paved blacktop has been waiting 48 years for me to make the trip.
But I don’t have to travel alone because the road is wide enough to share. Like me, your destination is pre-programmed into your internal GPS system and it points to your true north on the road ahead.
Do you want to go with me?
My mode of transportation has been stalling lately. It has left me stuck and following one frustrating detour after another. But not now. Now the promise of the road ahead is too tempting to resist.
Fortunately, the road ahead is patient and it waits for the traveler to start.
They are no road signs to stop me or speed limits to obey. Instead there is a clear path to go from where I am today to where I want to be tomorrow.
If things aren’t working in my life right now it’s because I’m not working on them.
So, it’s time to make a change. It’s time to move.
Finding the road, I press down on the accelerator. The forward movement feels exhilarating; it feels like freedom. The speed is helping me see things with better clarity.
I see hope is not going to find me until I allow hope to find me. I see courage is not going to find me until I allow courage to find me. I see prosperity is not going to find me until I allow prosperity to find me.
They have been pulled over on the side of the road, resting and waiting for me to arrive.
I’m on my way.
My power doesn’t come from a newly-made New Year resolution; it comes from the faith inside of me that continuously whispers to never give up. I have the feeling hope, courage and prosperity will become a new source of power when I allow them to find me.
Wondering about the road ahead?
But I’m going anyway because my faith just keeps on whispering. It’s telling me this year is going to be a good year.
You are welcome to come, too.
The road is wide enough to share.
Do you want to go with me?
