“The next good thing can begin as soon as you give it permission to start.”

I love this! When I look back on my life I can see where i did this and where I haven't.

I think that although I have been trying to start over after 21 years of marriage. I think I realized I have not truly given myself permission to start over again.

I will do that now. I am learning that saying affirmations out loud really do make it so.

Thanks for this Alex! I think it will be very helpful to remind myelf from time to time.

Warmest regards, Pam

@ Wanda: I'm sorry for you loss Wanda. For me, I pay attention to what my fear and loneliness are telling me. Both motivate me and give me great faith to keep moving forward. I will be thinking of you.

My friend, you are always right on the money. My husband passed away a little less than 2 weeks ago and even though my heart is more than half empty, I feel a fullness that he left me with. Our goals, our plans, our dreams still exist in me and the challenge of focusing on those instead of the loss is very strong.

The ghost that I can not surrender to is the ghost of loss, fear, loneliness and pain. He was my heart, my soulmate and my inspiration and now I must use that energy to be the person he would want me to be.

I thank you for helping me get clear on this Alex.

Beautiful article.

I totally agree with you.Everlasting marriage is a good example for what you were saying. That's the way my husband and I work in our marriage.Focus is really important when trying to get what you want, especially when talking about happiness and love

"The next good thing can begin as soon as you give it permission to start."

I can connect with that; often I've chained myself to a "dead" good thing and missing the new ones..
