I bring you the gift of these four words: I believe in you. – Blaise Pascal

There have been more times than I care to admit when I have felt like giving up.

I have felt like giving up on my job, this blog, and there was once a time when I felt like giving up on my marriage. Those days have been some of the bleakest days of my life. The darkness, along with my anxiety, seemed to never end.

But I held on. I clung to my faith like it was the last buoy in the sea.

I relied on my past experience to remind me that the light does return – maybe it doesn’t return on my schedule, but it does return.

The way I found my way back to the light is by opening my heart to the inspiration around me. Reading, writing and sharing my struggles gave me hope and it encouraged me to never give up.

When your days feel dark, allow these 20 quotes to wash over your heart and inspire you to never give up, too.

I’ve been learning more and more that these times of wanting to give up are just another part of going towards your goals, but i’m learning to deal with it better and keep on going anyway.

The doubts and such are a part of it, the problem is that a lot of people give up because of these. I’m starting to see them as a sign of progress! It means i’m doing something bigger than I have done in the past!

True Ben, doubts can be a indication that we are stepping outside of our comfort zones. The key is to re-frame these doubts and keep stepping anyway!

I started keeping a quote book that I refer to often. One of my all time favorites is by Joseph Campbell: We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us.

Kaylin, the Joseph Campbell quote is one my favorites and wonderfully encouraging. In fact, the idea of “letting go” is the theme of my next book. If you have a letting go story to share, I would like to receive it. Details here: http://www.thebridgemaker.com/letting-go-true-stories/

I love quotes! It’s hard to choose just one, but I’ve always loved this by Leonard Cohen: Ring the bells that still can ring/forget your perfect offering/there is a crack in everything/that’s how the light gets in.

Bobbi – great quote. I love any quote that reminds us that there’s no pressure, or expectation, to be perfect!
