Giveaway: A 60-Minute Inspirational Playlist for Your Workout

By on Sep 18, 2011

Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Some things are simply better together: Peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies, rest and relaxation. As much as I love these dynamic duos, there’s one duo that’s having the most positive, nurturing influence on my life right now – inspirational music and working out.

Several times each week I lace up my running shoes, strap on my iPod and head to the gym. For 60 minutes, the phone goes unanswered and email gets ignored.

This is my hour to re-charge my mind, body and soul.

With the music streaming into my ears, I eagerly approach the workout. Music has the power to lift my spirits. And when exercise is combined, my heart begins beating to a new a rhythm.

Because music is integral to the experience, I make certain the most inspirational songs come along. So, I have created a 60-minute inspirational playlist. However, it doesn’t contain the typical songs. The playlist doesn’t have one song from the Rocky movies and Bon Jovi didn’t even make the list.

Instead, the songs are more faith-based and focus on themes of self-awareness, courage, determination and love. The playlist is made up of Christian musicians, but don’t think the songs are like the gospel hymns you remember from your childhood.

These are hard-charging songs that will give you energy before, during and after your workout. In fact, I believe in the inspirational power of these songs so much that I am giving away three playlists, for free. The playlist is one hour long and contains 15 songs.

To be eligible for the inspirational music playlist giveaway, here’s all you need to do:

  1. Leave a comment on this post, including which song you like best, suggest a new song or discuss why working out is important to you. (You must be a subscriber to win – it’s free to join the list!)
  2. Like The BridgeMaker page on Facebook and leave a similar comment.

That’s it.

I will select the three winning comments and announce the winners on Friday, September 23 on Facebook.

Two ways to preview these inspirational songs:

  1. Watch the YouTube versions below.
  2. if you have an iTunes account, click here to visit the playlist. Be sure to point your mouse to the left of each song and then click the blue arrow to hear a preview.

Reading by email? Just click here to visit the blog so you can preview the songs.

I share these inspirational songs from my iPod, to your iPod. And I share these songs my heart, to your heart.

Nurturing our bodies does indeed show respect for the life we have been given Rob.

  • Flo, thanks for noting the time it takes to put together a playlist. It was fun considering which songs to add and in what order. The ministry you and your husband are doing sounds terrific. Continued blessings to you.
