1. I think my family is too weak to handle the experience.

I am guilty of thinking this way! I have no problem living my dreams. My family is strong and they can live without my support. This has helped me to make a new decision.

Thank you.

@Janet
I figure if I tell people like it is, they'll do the same for me and I'll realize what I'm doing that doesn't help me achieve my dreams.

@Annaly
I remember friends in elementary school who had to do activities because their parents never got a chance to as children. It always made me sad.

@Lorraine
Worrying about opinions of others, especially relatives, really can screw up our dreams. And as you say - our dreams can also make those around us uncomfortable and therefore unsupportive. It's a hard balance to create. I remember in my Professional Organizing business where my clients would have to stop organizing because the changes in family routines (ie where Mom does everything) caused too many troubles and stress.

@Kwong
It starts with small steps. Build up mini victories and you'll build up the courage to make big changes.

@Ralph
Glad to hear that fear isn't ruling your life. I too let fear of my own writing hold me back from following my dream for 25 years. It's amazing how freeing it is to not live by that fear, eh?

Great Alex! I can relate to being a talker. I used to be the exact same way. Back then, I would use any excuse to not do something that sounded exciting or fulfilling. The real reason why I didn't walk the walk was that fear ran uncontrolled in my life. Getting over those fears have been the turning point in my life also. Thanks for sharing.
