About

Alex Blackwell | Founding Editor

alex-and-mary-beth-blackwellI started The BridgeMaker in September, 2008 as a creative outlet for my love of writing and to see how I could begin to make a difference in the world, one person at a time. The response to my articles has been more than I could ever imagine.

The BridgeMaker is an honestly written lifestyle blog that focuses on the importance of faith, inspiration and stories of personal change. The content found here can be categorized into the following primary areas:

  • Faith
Life is bigger than anyone of us. Sometimes when we surrender to a higher power and say “bring the rain,” we discover we are well-equipped to weather any storm we encounter. Many of the articles on The BridgeMaker focus on the power of faith and its ability to heal and provide strength.
  • Inspiration
Call it motivation or call it life-coaching, either way you can expect to read articles that are intended to help encourage you to overcome the obstacles you are facing.
  • Stories of Change
We cannot change or heal what we do not acknowledge. The stories published here are intended to give you motivation and confidence that change does indeed take courage, but without change we will remain stuck in the past. To move forward in life, we must first make the choice to begin learning how to change; we must take the first step outside of our comfort zones and into the fear that has held you and me back for too long.

I live in the heartland of the United States with my wife of 24 years, Mary Beth. We share four wonderful children; Brandon (24), Caitlin (20), Andrew (18) and Emily (11).

I blog for one simple reason: To share my heart and to touch the heart of others. In keeping with this singular mission, I would welcome the opportunity to show you how my talents as an effective writer, encourager and blog strategist can help your business or blog. Please visit the Hire Me page for more information.
