A Simple Path – To a New History in the Making

By on Mar 21, 2012

“If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.” ~ H.G. Wells

Yesterday is history.

The mistakes you made; the dreams you abandoned and the things you wish you could forget are miles away.

Yesterday no longer has the power to define who you are. It can no longer hurt you; and yesterday doesn’t have to keep you from living a beautiful life. No matter what happened yesterday, today is a new history in the making.

And if you need help, we can write a new history together.
Today we can make a new choice.
Today we can breathe a new dream.
Today we can start again.

If you need help, we can write a new history together.
Today we can admit our fear.
Today we can seek peace.
Today we can allow our hearts to sing a new song.

If you need help, we can write a new history together.
Today we can be kind.
Today we can invite love back inside.
Today we can ask for forgiveness.
Today we can forgive.

If you need help, we can write a new history together.
Today we can speak to our souls.
Today we can tell our souls to never give up.
Today we can take down the white flag.

If you need help, we can write a new history together.
Today we can be confident.
Today we can stop walking the perfect line.
Today we can love ourselves a little more.

Sometimes the simple path to a new history begins with realizing history is written every day, in every moment, and in every action – no matter what happened yesterday.

I can feel our new history being written. It’s full of hope. It’s covered in love. Faith is writing each new word.

Our healing has begun.

We’re walking into a new day together.

And everything we do today will be a new history in the making.

  • Dia, you are so right – our thoughts do become our reality; so positive thinking does lead to a happier life.
